Group Management - Edit Action
On this page you can add a new action for a group, or edit an existing action. The action will be an email that you will specify.
Under Condition, you must choose which of the two conditions will trigger the action.
Under Action, select who will receive the email.
In the Subject field, enter the what you want the subject line of the email to be.
In the message field, you can enter the message that will be sent in the email.
SiteScripter offers some options for having some parts of your subject and message automatically generated. Use these bracketed phrases to have the system fill in the pieces of information instead of looking them up yourself.
[name] for the name of the member
[email] for email address of the member
[group] for the name of the group
[page:nnnnnn] for a link to a web page on this site.
An example of an action that uses these options is below. The condition for this email would be when a new member is added, and the email would be sent to all members of the group.
Please welcome [name], who has just joined [group]. You can contact [name] at [email].

Once we add a new member, for example, Charles Wesley, to this group, the email action would be triggered. This would result in an email message like this:
Please welcome Charles Wesley, who has just joined the Professional Development Committee. You can contact Charles Wesley at cwesley@turing.edu.
