Group Management - Edit Type
Each group you create must be assigned a group type. Your library can create any number of group types, but generally you will have a small number of types that cover the various kinds of groups you will be creating. For example, you will most likely want to have groups types of Department and Committee. You may also want to create a group type of Special for groups that don't fit into any other group type. Some tools allow you to act on all the groups of a type. For example, using the Notices tool, you can send a message to all the members of all of the groups with the group type of Committee.
